- Participate in “security guarantees.”
- Reserve discussion of territorial exchanges for direct talks with Putin.
- President Putin told Trump he would accept security guarantees as part of building good faith in ending this conflict.
- In return, Ukraine promised to buy “$100 billion in American weapons and another $50 billion deal to produce drones with Ukrainian companies,” which is financed by Europe, according to the Financial Times.
Next Meeting, as per Bloomberg source:
- Bilateral meeting: Ukraine told the reporter that it was President Putin’s idea to have another meeting with him first, which could take place within 2 weeks and focus on “territorial issues.”
- Trilateral meeting: Trump proposed to have a meeting between President Zelenskiy and President Putin. No date has yet been confirmed, and they expect it to be within two or three weeks.
